I find myself making pictures of the mountains and hills, the palm trees and the sky, in the same way, back on Vancouver island, I make pictures of the water and shoreline, flowers and greenery. I'm captivated by the layers of the hills as they recede in the distance and how the light changes the way they look from hour to hour; minute to minute as sunset approaches. There's some of that here, but a lot more on the camera card, still to be developed (as it were).
A Desert Amble to Cove Oasis
The village of La Quinta has an enchanting central area, preserved as Old Town La Quinta, where a local famers' market is held each Sunday. Un domingo por la mañana (yeah, I know) we made the 40-minute drive to the village to take in the cute market and the even cuter town. Afterwards we made our way to the trailhead on the very edge of town to take a desert stroll to Cove Oasis. This is what I saw.
